To fine or not to fine
First, the NFL fined Justin Tuck of the New York Giants $7,500 for a hit on Dallas Cowboys QB Brooks Bollinger. Then, after reviewing the details, the NFL rescinded it's fine.
Next, the NFL fined Randy Moss of the New England Patriots $20,000 for comments he made about NFL officiating. Then, after reviewing the details, the NFL rescinded it's fine.
I understand the desire to make decisions in a quick manner. But it makes no sense to me that the NFL fines players only to rescind the fines shortly thereafter. Why doesn't the league have some sort of system of checks and balances in place before issuing the fine?
If this was an isolated error/correction, I would understand. But the league is just too quick to judge.
